Cameras Flare Birds

“Cameras flare birds.”

One of my favorite places to film and photograph from is in the blinds. I will choose that over any other options whenever I get the chance. There is something about being able to communicate with my hunters, being able to document them and all their moments within the blind, as well as still capture the birds coming in. Most of the waterfowl images throughout my career have come while standing right next to everyone else, in the blind.

Obviously I am not standing up and flailing around, typically am on my knees or in some weird half squat as birds work, but am always shooting, always watching and always grabbing the moments. So, the next time one of your buddies, a client or a guide tells you that your camera is why the birds aren’t working, send them over here. I promise you that I have more than enough evidence to prove that theory wrong.

But, who am I to say?
